There is been a complimenting relationship between agriculture performance and the economy. Where, If the performance of agriculture is advanced and yields good produces, the smallholder farmers involved in agriculture will have an increased income and ultimately economic development. Taking into consideration the fact that agriculture has greatly been contributing to the GDP since Independence. In addition to that, it should be known that the government of Tanzania expends large sums of funds in agriculture projects expecting a return in the economic cycle and small-holder farmer's earnings. Therefore, it is against this background that to ensure successful completion of the study, both primary data was collected in Meru District and quantified before being used in this study from the selected respondents through stratified random sampling where a qualitative method was employed.
