| dc.description.abstract | This study examined the effect of training on employees’ commitment in Arusha City Council Head Quarters. The study had three specific objectives namely; to identify the types of training given to employees in Arusha City Council Head Quarters, to examine the influence of training on employee’s commitment in Arusha City Council Head Quarters and to assess the extent to which training has improved employees commitment in Arusha City Council Head Quarters. Hertzberg two factor theory guided the study. The study employed the survey research design and quantitative research approach. The study used stratified random sampling technique to get the respondents primary data were collected through questionnaires and were analyzed using SPSS version 22. Findings indicated that there were various types of training given to employees in Arusha City Council Head Quarters. It was also found that training influenced employee’s commitment in Arusha City Council Head Quarters. The study revealed that to high extent training has improved employees commitment in Arusha City Council Head Quarters. It was concluded that were various types of training given to employees in Arusha City Council Head Quarters. It was also concluded that most of the types of training given to employees in Arusha City Council Head Quarters were on job training. The study also concluded that training influenced employee’s commitment in Arusha City Council Head Quarters. The conclusion was made that to high extent training has improved employees commitment in Arusha City Council Head Quarters. It was recommended that some training should be done outside the employee’s workplace so as to meet the needs. The study recommended that the government should strengthen training programs among employees so as to ensure their commitment. It was recommended that training should be participatory so as to achieve the expected results from the employees. The conclusion was made that, to ensure effective training results, there should be post training assessment to see whether the training was successful or not | en_US |
