dc.description.abstract This study aimed to assess the factors influencing the adoption of students’ information system at the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA). Higher learning Institutions in Tanzania require students’ information system such as Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE) in order to facilitate teaching and learning environment. This study sought to evaluate performance expectancy on the behavioral intention to adopt students’ information system in higher learning institutions, assessing the influence facilitating conditions on behavioral intention to adopt students’ information system in higher learning institutions and examining the attitudes towards technological use on behavioral intention to adopt students’ information system in higher learning institutions. This study chose a UTAUT model which was used as a theoretical framework to guide this research study in predicting the factors influencing the adoption of MOODLE system. Respondents were obtained by simple random sampling whereby a total of 97 respondents were chosen among IAA students. Questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument and data analysis was done by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16. As explored by Pearson Correlation coefficient, the study findings disclosed that, there is moderate relationship between performance expectancy and the behavioral intention to adopt students’ information system in higher learning institutions with r=.398, N=97. On the other hand the findings portrayed that there is moderate relationship between facilitating conditions and the behavioral intention to adopt students’ information system having r=.397, N=97, Likewise the study findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between attitudes towards technological use and the behavioral intention to adopt students’ information system with r=.681, N=97. Correspondingly, this study inferred that, MOODLE system plays a major role for achieving the intended success for students; also higher learning institutions should put many efforts to make sure that they expose students to MOODLE system through regular training in order to expedite the adoption. Among other issues, the study recommends for the institute to provide technical support from competent IT personnel, to provide not only continuous regular training but also sustainable ICT infrastructures. Further studies can be conducted to evaluate the variables with insignificant relationship for the adoption of students’ information system in higher learning institutions. en_US
