dc.description.abstract This study explored the contribution of rural electrification in improving livelihood among households in Moshi, Tanzania specifically analyzed the economic, social and domestic contribution of rural electrification in improving livelihood among households. The theories guided this study were modernization theory and capability approach. The research design of this study was mixed research design using both quantitative and qualitative research approach. Sampling techniques was random sampling with sample size of 204 respondents. Data collection method were questionnaires and interview. Data analysis method was descriptive and inferential statistics for quantitative while qualitative content analysis done. The findings from both quantitative and qualitative analyses highlight the significant impact of rural electrification on improving household livelihoods through various social, economic, and domestic contributions. The regression model, with an R-squared value of 62.9%, indicates that the economic contribution of electrification, social contribution of electrification, and domestic contribution of electrification collectively explain a substantial portion of the variability in household livelihoods. Furthermore, this study collectively emphasizes the multi benefits of rural electrification, making it a vital component for socio-economic development in rural communities. en_US
