dc.description.abstract This study examined the influence of strategic leadership on organizational performance, focusing on the Tanzania Police Force in Ruvuma Region. Guided by a pragmatism research philosophy, the study employed a mixed-methods approach and a descriptive research design. The target population consisted of 1,000 police employees, from which a sample of 286 respondents was selected using systematic random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and semi structured interviews with 20 senior officers. On whether strategic leadership has improved the quality of services delivered by the Police Force, 47.2% of respondents agreed and 22.4% strongly agreed, while only 8.7% disagreed, 3.5% strongly disagreed, and 18.2% were neutral. The mean score of 3.94 and a standard deviation of 0.89 demonstrate a high level of agreement, suggesting that strategic leadership has played a key role in enhancing the overall quality of police services in the region.Regarding the existence of a clear strategic intent that guides the organization’s overall direction, the results reveal that 41.3% of respondents agreed and 21% strongly agreed with the statement, while 18.2% remained neutral. Conversely, 12.6% disagreed and 7% strongly disagreed. The mean score of 3.57 with a standard deviation of 1.13 indicates a moderate to strong agreement, suggesting that the Tanzania Police Force in Ruvuma. With regard to whether the Tanzania Police Force provides regular training programs to its officers, 39.9% of respondents agreed and 20.3% strongly agreed with the statement, while 17.5% were neutral. On the other hand, 13.3% disagreed and 9.1% strongly disagreed. The mean score of 3.49 with a standard deviation of 1.14 indicates a moderate level of agreement, suggesting that although training initiatives are fairly regular, there remains room for improvement in terms of consistency and accessibility across all departments .The study concludes that institutionalizing strategic leadership, expanding training initiatives, and strengthening governance mechanisms are essential for enhancing organizational performance in the Tanzania en_US
