The aim of the study is to assess the influence of Non-monetary Rewards on Employee
Performance in Private Sector Organizations in Tanzania. A Case of Gold Crest Hotel in
Arusha. More specifically on to examine the effects of non-monetary rewards on
employee’s performance. In this study Alderfer’s ERG Theory and Vroom's Expectancy
Theory were selected as the guiding theory because the two factors relate directly to
intrinsic and extrinsic factors The study employed the case study design, with 67
respondents obtained through purposive which dealt with a total of the whole population
of 67 respondents. In conducting this study, researcher employed mixed approach of
research. The researcher employed various methodologies such as questionnaires,
interviews, and documentary reviews to collect the required data. Both qualitative and
quantitative data have been analyzed by using some devices such as tables, numbers and
percentages. Therefore, the study recommends that the Gold Crest Hotel should put more
emphasis, consideration and formulate clear policies and plans on non-monetary rewards
such as career development, promotion and employee recognition from which it can
results in greater employee performance and further employee productivity and
commitment. Conclusively the findings of the study revealed that, there is a significant
and positive relationship between non-monetary rewards with employee performance in
both public and private sectors organizations. |
