Abstract:
This study aimed on assessing Contribution of Information Communiciition Technology on tho
Performance of Small Businesses in Tanzania". A case of Ubungo district in Dar es Salaam Rein
The study expected to use three objectives which are: to examine the extent of ICT adopt;on by
Small Business in Dar es salaam Region, to explore the challenges of ICT adoption by Srnal
Business in Dar es salaam Region and to explore strategies for enhancing ICT adoption in
performance of Small Business in Dar es salaam Region. This study used a descriptive research
design. Researcher employed simple random sampling technique to select samples for
representation in the study as well as purposive sampling technique was employed. Both primary
and secondary data were employed in this study. The analysis of data based upon descriptive
statistics. Data collection methods used interview andquestionnaires, in research approach both
qualitative and quantitative approach were employed, targeted population is 110 respondents, sample size 86. The main goals of the study were to determine the degree to vi

has impacted small business performance, what kind of ICT is most appropriate and accessibte to
small businesses, and finally, what ICT infrastructure limitations are common among Tanzanian
small businesses. Small businesses in the relevant district that employ one or more categories of
ICT equipment and applications were the study's target audience of which four Key Informants and
a fair representation of 97% of the respondents took part in the study. The results of the survey
indicated that the most widely used devices in the study region are the computer, mobie phone. and CCTV camera. The most widely used apps in the study area are the internet. webstes, Microsoft Office programs. and statistical software. The majority of respondents believed that ICT
had a stronger impact on their organizations' performance, indicating the strong correlation already
identified between ICT usage and small business performance. Nevertheless, several limitations
prevent the efficient application of ICT to many small enterprises. Financial limitations, ignorance of
the newest gadgets and applications, inexperience with certain ICT technologies, high ICT
sub network services from service providers are some of the most
