Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of contract management on procurement
performance in Tanzania, specifically in the public sector. While there are related studies on the
determinants of procurement contract management and their effect on organization
performance, as well as the relationship between supplier development and procurement
performance in the public sector, there is a lack of research on the specific case of the
Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) in the Arusha region. The study will identify
the factors leading to poor contract management in public procurement works towards value for
money, and explore the relevance of procurement methods and variables in the context of local
government authorities. The findings of this study will contribute to the understanding of
procurement performance and contract management in the public sector in Tanzania, and
provide insights for improving procurement practices in the NCAA and other similar
organizations.
