Abstract:
Considering of today’s competitive economic environment, required the organization to have
proactive and committed employees in performing higher standard of job performance in order
to successfully survive and compete with other competitors. Employees’ job performance is one
of the crucial elements that provide both goals and methods to achieve organizational mission.
Assessment of the role of personality traits on leaders’ and employees’ organization
performance agro-industrial companies are very scant. Few studies conducted focused on the
big five dimensions of namely neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience,
conscientiousness, and agreeableness. This study assessed the role of non-big five personality
traits namely integrity, perseverance and decisiveness which are not emphasized in the
available literature. The researcher’s understanding was guided by the Trait Theory of
leadership and the Trait Theory of Personality. The study was conducted in Morogoro region,
Mvomero district at Mtibwa Sugar Estate Ltd. The study design was descriptive case study. The
study was qualitative in nature. Data was collected through interview and documentary review.
Thematic analysis was used in analysing data.
