dc.description.abstract |
This study examines the contribution of auditing in the success of organization performance in Tanzania with the case study of Moshi Municipal Council. Specifically, the study examined the Auditing practices in an organization, find out the role of Auditing in an organization at Moshi Municipal Council offices and explore challenges and way forward to have adequate audit in Moshi District Council. The study used mixed methods approach to collect both quantitative and qualitative data. A sample of 31 respondents was drawn using purposive and simple random sampling techniques.
In this study both qualitative and quantitative data analyzed. In depth interviews used as data collection techniques where qualitative approaches for data analysis will be used. The qualitative data that collected through structured face-to-face semi-structured interviews and analyzed through content analysis. The descriptive analysis that involves frequencies and percentages will be calculated to produce quantitative data that reflect the specific objectives of this study. To achieve this exercise Statistical Package and Service Solution (SPSS) utilized.
The findings revealed that the majority of the respondents witnessed that there are problems encounter during auditing process such as collision in the organization, information recorded is poor and did not follow the ISA standard and procedures, difficulty to create audit report as a result of fail to access significant data. Additionally, findings reveals that there is a need to prepare financial statement and the policy pertaining such as internal control system in the organization.
The study recommend that education should be conducted to audit staff, increasing the number of staff for the audit to perform their responsibilities to achieve the goals of organization. The establishment of the right people in their right professions to ensure effective operations. |
