revealed that early marriages in the Maasai community are responsible for school dropout and
underperformance among young girls in schools in the Kilosa district. Moreover, the aforementioned
findings indicate that a significant number of adolescent females who are married at a young age
are deprived of the chance to pursue secondary school. It has been shown that numerous husbands
are hesitant to send their women to school due to their fear of losing control over them once they
achieve higher levels of knowledge.
