dc.description.abstract Objective, This study aims to assess the impact of decision-making processes on the organizational performance of the National Identification Authority (NIDA) in Arusha, a public sector organization tasked with the crucial mission of providing national identification services. Method, A mixed-method research approach was employed, combining surveys, interviews, and a comprehensive analysis of NIDA's historical data. A sample of employees and stakeholders was surveyed to gauge their perceptions of decision-making practices, and in-depth interviews were conducted with key decision-makers within NIDA. The data collected were then analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Summary of Main Findings, Our research revealed a complex relationship between decision making processes and organizational performance. The study found that transparent, data-driven decision-making practices positively correlated with improved operational efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction. However, the over-centralization of decision-making within NIDA hindered innovation and agility, potentially affecting its long-term sustainability. Furthermore, timely and well-informed decisions were found to be critical to adapt to rapidly evolving public sector challenges. In conclusion, this research underscores the critical importance of enhancing decision-making processes within public sector organizations like NIDA. A balance between centralization and delegation of decision-making authority needs to be struck, enabling the organization to be responsive to the dynamic demands of the modern public sector landscape. To improve organizational performance, NIDA should adopt data-driven, transparent, and participatory decision-making approaches, fostering innovation and agility while ensuring efficient service delivery. This abstract provides a clear and concise summary of your study, including its objective, methodology, key findings, and a conclusion. It gives readers a good understanding of your research on the influence of decision making on organizational performance in the context of the National Identification Authority (NIDA) in Arusha. en_US
