Abstract:
The study intended to assess the contribution of Entrepreneurial Orientation on performance of
Machinga SMEs in Dodoma region, Tanzania. Specifically, the study intended to identify the
contribution of risk-taking propensity on performance of Machinga SMEs in Dodoma Region, to
determine the effect of innovativeness on performance of Machinga SMEs in Dodoma Region, to
establish pro-activeness contribution of performance of Machinga SMEs in Dodoma Region and to
examine the effect of competitiveness on performance of Machinga SMEs in Dodoma Region. The
study was guided by Entrepreneurial Orientation Theory at Firm Level. A descriptive research
design was adopted for this study. Research design employed was case study. The study used
both qualitative and quantitative research approach to collect needed data. The targeted population
was 300 people and sample size was 171. The study used simple random sampling and purposive
sampling techniques to get respondents. The data collection method included; questionnaire,
interview, observation and documentary review. Descriptive statistics and Regression analysis
were used to analyse data. The study will use Content validity and test-retest reliability.
