dc.description.abstract |
The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of leadership style on organization performance:
A case of Arusha Municipal Council in Arusha region, Tanzania. Specifically, the study aimed to
examine employees’ perception on the practice of leadership style, to investigate types of leadership
styles on course of managing the organization and to evaluate the contributions/impact of
Leadership Styles on Employee performance. The research design used is descriptive. The sample
size composed of 200 respondents who are employees working with Arusha Municipal Council. The
study used questionnaires and interview as the primary research instrument.
The findings revealed that to some extent employee’s perception have impacts on organizational
performance and has positive and strong relation with all attributes of organizational performance,
also revealed that to some extent the leadership styles has impacts on organizational performance
and the type of leadership styles has positive and strong relationship with all attributes of
organizational performance and then, the leadership styles contribute on organizational
performance and contribution of leadership styles has positive and strong relationship with attributes
of organizational performance.
The study recommendation public institutions should invest in collecting employees’ perceptions
through formal meetings and other approaches for the purpose of improving organizational
performance. Also, the public leaders should equip leaders with various leadership styles so that
they may be able to use any leadership styles based on the situation and the requirement of the
environment. Furthermore, the administrative policies, principles and guidelines should be
improved. |
