This research study reconnoiters how Staff Skills, Motivation and Performance Appraisal influence
employee productivity within the context of local government, focusing on the Temeke Municipal Council
(TMC) in Dar es Salaam City. The study aims to achieve specific objectives, including assessing the
impact of staff skills, understanding the relationship between motivation and employee productivity, and
analyzing the effects of performance appraisal on employee productivity at TMC. The research use both
theoretical and empirical literature review, Theoretical literature review used are motivation theory,
system theory. Data for this study was collected through interviews and questionnaires and data were
analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Research design used is case study
design, and the research Approach is mixed method approach. Sample size of the study determined
based on the total population of workers as per department employees number, who are represented by
HR department and heads of department to give result for the whole organization workers. The research
findings emphasize the importance of enhancing employee productivity for the successful operation and
development of the organization. The study's objectives and key findings are summarized as follows:
Objective One: Impact of Staff Skills on Employee Productivity are highly contribute to employee
productivity. The second objectives are highly agreed by respondent to contributive on motivation to
employee productivity. Also the third objectives is agreed to impact it at large. The study highlights the
significance of staff skills in influencing employee productivity. Recommendations According to
Objectives: Specific recommendations include improving staff skills, enhancing motivation, and ensuring
effective performance appraisal practices to increase productivity at TMC. By implementing these
recommendations, Temeke Municipal Council can expect to improve employee engagement, efficiency,
and the attainment of organizational goals and objectives. This abstract provides a concise overview of
the research, highlighting the objectives, findings, and key recommendations. |
