ABSTRACT
The main objective of this study was to assess factors influencing effectiveness of water
construction projects under Arusha Urban Water Supply and Authority (AUWSA) in Arusha Region.
Effectiveness of water construction projects is the degree at which the water projects are successful
and produce the expected outcome. The study focused on three specific objectives which are to
assess contribution of stakeholder’s engagement in effective water construction, to assess the
impact of time management contribution on development of water construction projects and to
examine the impact of politics in effective water construction projects. Data was collected through
closed questionnaires and documentary reviews and analyzed, quantitatively through descriptive
analysis, regression analysis and correlation analysis. The study design adopted was correlational
study design. The sample size included 100 respondents. The study findings were analyzed using
SPSS vs 26 data package and Excel. Validity and reliability of the data was tested showing the
Cronbach’s Alpha, KMO and Bartlett's Tests for reliability and validity respectively and ethical
considerations like consent from the respondents before data collection will be adhered in this study.
The study findings showed that time management, political discipline and stakeholder’s involvement
were found to be significant. The researcher concluded that political discipline, stakeholder’s
involvement and time management are good estimators of water projects effectiveness at Arusha
Region. The study recommends that water construction projects should be monitored in a way that
there will be no any loops of resources misuse and misallocation and people should be involved in
water construction projects and they should be educated about being upfront in guarding and
monitoring its development since they are the main beneficiaries of the project
