dc.description.abstract This study investigates the challenges and effectiveness of post-construction management in public water projects within Kibondo District. The first objective involves identifying key challenges faced in post-construction water project management, revealing significant issues such as personnel expertise, technological evolution, funding, community involvement, infrastructure maintenance, stakeholder coordination, data management, regulatory compliance, and climate change preparedness. The second objective explores the effectiveness of existing water projects in ensuring sustainable water supply, revealing a nuanced perspective on community involvement, capacity to meet growing water demand, water quality, and long-term sustainability commitments. The third objective focuses on developing strategies to improve post-construction management, with respondents supporting educational programs, community involvement, and technology integration. The methodology employed a sample size of 399 participants, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, including surveys and key informant interviews. The findings highlight the multifaceted nature of challenges and underscore the importance of continuous improvement for long-term effectiveness. Recommendations include ongoing capacity development, financial support, community participation, technological integration, and nuanced strategies to address diverse community perspectives on maintenance schedules. en_US
