Since the introduction of information management in Tanzanian organizations, there was a belief that it will help to solve the existing challenges experienced by managers in human resource management process. Unfortunately, information management do not seers to meet the expectations of organizations as there have been challenges observed In its implementation. This study focused on assessing the impact of information management on human resource management in Tanzania. The study was conducted at the Ruvuma Regional Secretariat office. An explanatory research design and a qualitative research approach was used M this study. The study population included heads of departments. managers and staffs in Ruvuma Regional Secretariat. The sample size was 58 who were selected using a purposive and convenience sampling techniques. The interviews were used to collect data. Content analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data collected from participants in order to decode their meaning. The qualitative discoveries of this study obtained from individual interviews, discover. the (3) influences of information management on human resource decision making namely: increased competitiveness of managers in decision making process. increased effectiveness of managers in decision making process and solve different problems that appears in the organization A., it discovered three (3) influences of information management on human resource performance management namely, effective performance appraisal. saving costs and proper plan for human resources In the organization In addition, the qualitative discoveries of this study attained from individual interviews three (3) influences of information management on human resource planning such as saving time, effective planning for human resources and anticipating future human resource needs of the organization. Lastly, the qualitative discoveries of this study gained from individual interviews revealed two (2) major influences of information management on human resources staffing namely; assessing staffing needs and effective human resources management Hencefornard. this research recommends that. in order to enhance effectiveness of human resources management functions in organizations, there is a need to ensure that there is adequate data, effective communication network, accessibility of data and data quality. This will lead to positive human resource management impact such as effective decision making, performance management. human resources planning and staffing |
