Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to assess the Rainwater harvesting ponds for sustainable wildlife
conservation’s outcomes: A Case of Mkomazi National Park. The study intended to answer three
research objectives, which are examine whether development of rainwater harvesting ponds
granger cause sustainable wildlife conservation, examine whether sustainable wildlife conservation
granger cause rainwater harvesting ponds and lastly to examine cointegration between rainwater
harvesting ponds granger cause sustainable wildlife conservation. The research applied the
quantitative approach in carrying out this study. This study was guided by ecological modernization
theory. Time series data were collected from archival records of TANAPA and comprised of revenue
data and number of ponds from 2008 to 2022. Findings from the study indicated that development
of rainwater harvesting ponds granger cause sustainable wildlife conservation. The study further
found out that there is cointegration between rainwater harvesting ponds granger cause sustainable
wildlife conservation.
