Client satisfaction has long been a source of concern in the glthal construction industry. Despite massive financial investments rn construction and the associated economic benefits, construction projects in Tanzania consistently fail to meet or exceed client's expectations .This study examined the effects of contractors' resources availability on client satisfaction on road projects: the case of Arusha TANROADS. The cross-sectional survey design and a mixed research approach were used in the study. A sample size of 103 respondents was selected using a stratified random sampling technique. Self-administered questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data. The analysis of data was done through descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation. Findings revealed that contractors' resources influenced client's satisfaction were financial, human and material resources factors This is because through these factors, the clients were sure that the project can be completed within a specified time and standard. The study recommended that road construction companies should have a stable capital base and should be awarded contracts based on their financial capabilities, human and
technical resources. Contractors, the other hand, could improve their cash flow by forming public-private partnerships with financiers willing A finance large construction projects. The findings of this study could also assist the govemment in addressing the major setbacks that lead to road project dissatisfaction by developing policies to empower mad contractors, particularly local contractors, in terms of resources It could also assist road construction companies understand the relationship between resource availability and dent satisfaction Keywords: Resource availability, client's satisfaction, contractor, TANROADs. |
