dc.description.abstract This study was undertaken to assess the factors influencing e-learning usage in government secondary schools in Arusha District. The research adopted inferential statistics and multiple regression models for data analysis using the SPSS computer program. The sample size was 243 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews. Results from multiple regression analysis showed that the relationships between the model were strong but significant presented by Adjusted R-square 0.821 (82.1%). More results indicated that factors that can influence the usage of the Reneal e-learning system are not well addressed in most of the secondary schools found in the Arusha District. The study, on the other hand, revealed that the unavailability of ICT teachers is another hindrance to the e-learning system in the study area. Furthermore, the study revealed that the degree of teachers using the e-learning system was low. This implies that the usage of the Reneal e-learning system in the study area was very low. The study concluded that, despite of few barriers which have been discussed, the research findings have shown that, the usage of e-learning system in secondary schools is significant as it saves time and manpower. In the study area, it has been found that e-learning is not widely used in public secondary schools. Therefore, it was recommended that; the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training should emphasize employing more ICT teachers in public secondary schools. Schools should invest in establishing computer laboratories with their computers connected to the Internet.
