dc.description.abstract The study has assessed effectiveness of LoRaWAN IoT technology in wildlife monitoring at TANAPA in Arusha Tanzania. The study employed descriptive research design and a quantitative approach. Sample size was 81 and data was collected through questionnaire from TANAPA staff in Serengeti and Tarangire national parks. Data was analysed by descriptive statistics using frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations. It was found and concluded that LoRaWAN is significantly effective in monitoring movement of animals, movement of poachers, vehicle movements, human and animal conflicts, area of interest of animals, and monitoring bad weather conditions in national parks. TANAPA should implement use of LoRaWAN in all national parks under its jurisdictions to ensure all wildlife in the country are well monitored and protected. Also, TANAPA should ensure all of its staff are trained on the use of LoRaWAN and other IoT technologies that will be used in wildlife monitoring in the future. en_US
