Abstract:
Training is one among the functions of human resource of the organization. This research examines the outcomes of employee training on organizational performance in restaurants. The study considered two Arusha city restaurants. The specific objectives of the study were: To find out the determinants of employee performance in restaurants, to examine the methods in which employee training is provided in restaurants, and to investigate the outcomes of employee training on organizational performance in restaurants. Theories were Social Learning theory and Human Capital theory.Research used exploratory design and a mixed approach of data collection. Data was collected from 45 respondents selected through purposive sampling and convenient sampling, researcher used questionnaire method and in-depth interview to collect data. Qualitative data was analyzed through content and logical analysis techniques and Quantitative through descriptive statistics. Results showed that there is positive influence of employee training on organizational performance. Findings showed that training bridges gap between job requirements and skills to perform the job. Study concludes, employee training has positive outcomes on organizational performance in restaurants. Study recommends, employers to keep training in their budget for employees and employees are to attend the training given.
