dc.description.abstract This paper aims to assess the adoption of electronic commerce among small-medium enterprise in Arusha city council, Tanzania. The quantitative data from questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS version 20 while the qualitative data from interview were analyzed using thematic coding analysis. The analyzed finding shows that technical infrastructure, economic factors and individual behavioral characteristic affect the adoption of E-commerce. This finding suggests that the level of adoption of E-commerce in Arusha city council can be enhanced by having good internet accessibility, constant power supply, lowering the maintenance and operational costs, having positive attitude towards technology, E-commerce profitability or usefulness, favorable laws and policies, and acquisition of relevant skills and knowledge on E-commerce. Accordingly, it is important to have entrepreneurship skills training on E-commerce in addition to the enactment of laws and policies that promote and support the adoption of E-commerce by small-medium enterprises in Arusha city council, Tanzania.
