<title>THE INFLUENCE OF DIGITAL FINANCIAL SERVICES IN ENHANCING FINANCIAL INCLUSION:</title>
<link>http://dspace.iaa.ac.tz:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/908</link>
<description>THE INFLUENCE OF DIGITAL FINANCIAL SERVICES IN ENHANCING FINANCIAL INCLUSION:
MBESIGWE, Watson G. &amp; JILENGA. Moga T Dr
The study sought to examine the Influence of Digital Financial Services in Enhancing Financial Inclusion in&#13;
Tanzania. The study adopted a descriptive research design. The descriptive design was embraced as it enables the&#13;
review of the relationship of the variables under study. This study used a sample size of 60 respondents who were&#13;
selected through simple random sampling from Heritage Microfinance Limited, Amani Microfinance Ltd, FINCA&#13;
Microfinance Ltd, and Bayport Financial Services. Data were collected by the use of questionnaires and the data&#13;
were analyzed with the aid of the Statistical Package of Social Scientists Program (SPSS). The study unveiled that&#13;
online account registration, internet banking, online loans processing, mobile banking, and agency banking are the&#13;
digital financial services offered by Microfinance Institutions in Arusha. In addition, study findings revealed that&#13;
digital financial services are positively enhanced financial inclusion in Tanzania. Moreover, the findings indicated&#13;
a positive and significant correlation between digital financial services and financial inclusion. The study&#13;
recommended that Microfinance Institutions in Tanzania should make use of popular social media platforms to&#13;
promote their services and also educate the customers about the uses of the products they offer. However, to gain&#13;
more understanding of this subject, a study may consider a bigger context in terms of scope and population,&#13;
however, it be done by using similar variables to examine if the results will be the same to different economies.

<title>THE IMPACT OF FISCAL POLICY ON ECONOMIC GROWTH CASE OF THE TANZANIAN ECONOMY 2000-2020</title>
<link>http://dspace.iaa.ac.tz:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/907</link>
<description>THE IMPACT OF FISCAL POLICY ON ECONOMIC GROWTH CASE OF THE TANZANIAN ECONOMY 2000-2020
MUSSA, Khadija J &amp;  LASWAI,  Richard B.
The study assessed the impact of fiscal policy dynamics on economic growth concerning the&#13;
Tanzanian economy 2000-2020. The study was guided by three predicting variables tested on&#13;
economic growth as the dependent variable. The predicting variables include recurrent&#13;
expenditure, development expenditure, and income tax. The explanatory design was used to&#13;
depict the knowledge gap for the inquiry employing causal relationship testing between study&#13;
variables. Secondary data were used whereas specifically using panel data in time series for&#13;
the period of 21 years (2000-2020). The data were gathered from secondary sources, which&#13;
were filled in an Excel sheet and imported into the E-view 10 software for generating&#13;
statistical measurements to present the results. Findings indicated that among three&#13;
predicting variables, two namely recurrent expenditure and development expenditure, have&#13;
been found significant on economic growth (p&lt;0.05). However, income tax was found&#13;
significant towards economic growth with (p&gt;0.1) 10% level of significance. This implies&#13;
that economic growth through fiscal policy dynamics is influenced by recurrent expenditure&#13;
and development expenditure, and income tax.

<title>THE EFFECTS OF REGIONAL CUSTOMS POLICIES AND REGULATIONS ON REVENUE COLLECTION IN TANZANIA</title>
<link>http://dspace.iaa.ac.tz:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/906</link>
<description>THE EFFECTS OF REGIONAL CUSTOMS POLICIES AND REGULATIONS ON REVENUE COLLECTION IN TANZANIA
CORNELIUS, Cornelius E. &amp; DEPARTMENT of Business Management
The study was conducted to assess the effects of regional customs policies and regulations on revenue&#13;
collection in Tanzania. Specifically, the study aimed at determining the regional customs policies and&#13;
regulations affecting revenue collection in Tanzania, establishing the effects of trade liberalization on&#13;
revenue collection in Tanzania, and assessing the challenges facing the Tanzania Revenue Authority in&#13;
implementing international and regional customs policies and regulations. This was a cross-sectional&#13;
study, where respondents were obtained using the Purposive sampling technique, and a total of 80&#13;
respondents were included from Namanga border post, Tunduma border post and Dar es Salaam port,&#13;
and Inland Clearance Depot in Dar es Salaam. Questionnaires, interviews, and document reviews were&#13;
used as the main tools for collecting data. The findings revealed that the World Customs Organization&#13;
through the Revised Kyoto Convention, SADC as well as the EAC protocols’ provisions on the dutyfree,&#13;
free movement of people, goods, and products reduce the amount of imports revenues in Tanzania.&#13;
The study concludes that there is a significant influence of regional customs policies and regulations on&#13;
revenue collection. Also, it was found that customs laws, policies, and regulations are not the main&#13;
factors lowering the imports duties; instead, there are many more factors such as political interference,&#13;
Technological advancement, Low-quality products imported, lack of training, and low understanding&#13;
of regional integration and trade liberalization among employees at the border posts are some&#13;
challenges facing TRA customs at the Border Posts. The study recommends that the government of&#13;
Tanzania reduces the number of goods and services that are imported without paying any tax; review&#13;
the agricultural products that must pay tax, and which must be duty-free. TRA organizes frequent&#13;
training to employees to increase their understanding of the laws, policies, and regulations governing&#13;
customs in regional groupings. TRA strengthens the tax evasion department to control the illegal entry&#13;
of goods and products in all Borders in the country.

<title>THE EFFECT OF WORKING CAPITAL MANAGEMENT ON THE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE</title>
<link>http://dspace.iaa.ac.tz:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/905</link>
<description>THE EFFECT OF WORKING CAPITAL MANAGEMENT ON THE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
SINGITU, Juma J. &amp; BASESA, Jumanne Dr
Working capital management has an important role in the firm’s success or failure because of its effect&#13;
on its performance and liquidity. The performance of manufacturing firms is paramount to achieving&#13;
the national goal of industrialization by 2025 as manufacturing firms constitute the industrial sector&#13;
largely. This study examines the effect of working capital management on the financial performance of&#13;
five (5) listed manufacturing firms in Tanzania for a period of twelve (12) years (2008-2019). Data for&#13;
the study were quantitatively retrieved from the published audited annual reports and accounts of the&#13;
studied firms. The study employed descriptive statistics to describe the variable while the relationships&#13;
among the variables were established via correlation. Variable Inflation Factor was used to determine&#13;
the existence or otherwise of multicollinearity, while Ordinary Least Square regression was used to&#13;
analyse the data. The study found that both accounts receivable days, accounts payable days and&#13;
inventory days are positively related to the financial performance of the studied companies with&#13;
significant test statistics. Therefore, it is concluded that the financial performance of selected&#13;
manufacturing firms is influenced by working capital components and hence objective of the study has&#13;
been achieved. The study, however, recommends that the management increase and/maintain their&#13;
account receivable period and account payable period and invest more in inventory as all these will&#13;
have an overall positive effect on the financial performance of listed manufacturing firms in Tanzania.&#13;
It is further recommended that scholars and researchers conduct further studies on other factors apart&#13;
from working capital components that significantly impact the profitability of Tanzania’s listed&#13;
manufacturing firms to achieve industrial success and development
