<title>The Impact to Information Technology on the Learning Process in Tanzania</title>
<link>http://dspace.iaa.ac.tz:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/2758</link>
<description>The Impact to Information Technology on the Learning Process in Tanzania
MYULA, Eva
ABSTRACT&#13;
Information and communication technology (ICT) has recently become crucial in the education&#13;
sector. The use of technological tools such as mobile phones, computers, and the Internet has&#13;
enhanced communication and coordination of activities in the education sector. The main&#13;
objective of the study was to examine the impact of information and communication&#13;
technology on the learning process in Tanzania: a case study of Ikungi District Secondary&#13;
Schools in Singida Region. The study was guided by the following specific objectives: to&#13;
determine the effect of ICT infrastructures, to examine the effect of students' attitudes towards&#13;
ICT, and to determine possible challenges hindering the use of ICT on the learning process in&#13;
Ikungi District Secondary Schools. In the Singida region The study used the mixed research&#13;
approach, which combines both quantitative and qualitative approaches in the collection and&#13;
analysis of data. The study adopted a descriptive research design. The findings show that ICT&#13;
infrastructure, students' attitudes towards ICT, and challenges hindering the use of ICT have a&#13;
significant effect on the learning process in Ikungi District Secondary Schools. The study&#13;
therefore concluded that ICT infrastructure, students' attitudes towards ICT, and challenges&#13;
hindering the use of ICT have a significant influence on the learning process in Ikungi District&#13;
Secondary Schools. The underlining motion here is that once there is a significant&#13;
improvement in the ICT infrastructure, students' attitudes towards ICT, and the possibility of&#13;
minimising possible challenges hindering the use of ICT, there is bound to be a great&#13;
improvement in the learning process in Ikungi District secondary schools in Singida Region. It&#13;
was recommended that Ikungi District secondary schools therefore emphasise the use of&#13;
hardware and mobile phones by teachers and students in secondary schools to facilitate the&#13;
learning process. It should also emphasise the effective use of internet service in the school&#13;
compound. It was also recommended that teachers in Ikungi District secondary schools&#13;
change their attitudes toward the use of JCT. The government in the Singida region should&#13;
also minimise the cost of 1CT equipment, materials, and accessories. Also, there should be a&#13;
reliable electric power supply, which will influence the learning process at Ikungi District&#13;
Secondary Schools. A study should be carried out to find out other types of factors affecting&#13;
the learning process in Tanzania. Since the study was concentrated in Ikungi District&#13;
Secondary Schools, future researchers should consider widening the scope of the population&#13;
in different locations that were not covered in this study.

<description>The Contribution of Information Communication Technology on the Performance of Small Businesses in Tanzania
KIVELEGE, Jeremia. J
This study aimed on assessing Contribution of Information Communiciition Technology on tho&#13;
Performance of Small Businesses in Tanzania". A case of Ubungo district in Dar es Salaam Rein&#13;
The study expected to use three objectives which are: to examine the extent of ICT adopt;on by&#13;
Small Business in Dar es salaam Region, to explore the challenges of ICT adoption by Srnal&#13;
Business in Dar es salaam Region and to explore strategies for enhancing ICT adoption in&#13;
performance of Small Business in Dar es salaam Region. This study used a descriptive research&#13;
design. Researcher employed simple random sampling technique to select samples for&#13;
representation in the study as well as purposive sampling technique was employed. Both primary&#13;
and secondary data were employed in this study. The analysis of data based upon descriptive&#13;
statistics. Data collection methods used interview andquestionnaires, in research approach both&#13;
qualitative and quantitative approach were employed, targeted population is 110 respondents, sample size 86. The main goals of the study were to determine the degree to vi&#13;
.tith ICT adoption&#13;
has impacted small business performance, what kind of ICT is most appropriate and accessibte to&#13;
small businesses, and finally, what ICT infrastructure limitations are common among Tanzanian&#13;
small businesses. Small businesses in the relevant district that employ one or more categories of&#13;
ICT equipment and applications were the study's target audience of which four Key Informants and&#13;
a fair representation of 97% of the respondents took part in the study. The results of the survey&#13;
indicated that the most widely used devices in the study region are the computer, mobie phone. and CCTV camera. The most widely used apps in the study area are the internet. webstes, Microsoft Office programs. and statistical software. The majority of respondents believed that ICT&#13;
had a stronger impact on their organizations' performance, indicating the strong correlation already&#13;
identified between ICT usage and small business performance. Nevertheless, several limitations&#13;
prevent the efficient application of ICT to many small enterprises. Financial limitations, ignorance of&#13;
the newest gadgets and applications, inexperience with certain ICT technologies, high ICT&#13;
sub network services from service providers are some of the most&#13;
operating expenses, and p&#13;
frequently cited barriers. Since small businesses in the study area were found to be lagging behind&#13;
these findings are very concerning to activists who specialize in&#13;
i n t h e u s e o f m o d e r n t e c h n o l o g i e s&#13;
, the development of small businesses. As a result, both art is required to and private supp from&#13;
con&#13;
take&#13;
rective measures in order to help small businesses acquJe the maximum benefits&#13;
integrating ICT in their businesses.

enterprise systems. The study utilized a descriptive research design as well as a quantitative&#13;
research approach. A questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data. This study employed&#13;
a quantitative data analysis technique to analyze the data. The study found that there is a strong&#13;
relationship between the challenges facing and the implementation of enterprise systems in&#13;
public organizations whereby 96% of the variation in the success of implementing enterprise&#13;
systems has been accounted for by technical challenges, organizational challenges, as well as&#13;
cultural challenges. This implies that these three types of challenges play a significant role in&#13;
influencing the outcomes of the implementation process. It suggests that understanding and&#13;
managing these challenges effectively can lead to a substantial improvement in the overall&#13;
success of implementing enterprise systems in public organizations.From the study, it was also&#13;
found that technical challenges and cultural challenges have a positive and significant relation&#13;
to the success of the implementation of the enterprise systems while organizational challenges&#13;
have a negative but significant relation to the success of the implementation of the enterprise&#13;
systems. Also, the results suggest that technical challenges have a greater contribution towards&#13;
the success of the implementation of the enterprise systems followed by cultural challenges. Since the study found that 96% of the variation in the success of implementing enterprise&#13;
